About Nicole Wilson
Born and raised in New York City, Nicole Wilson was comes from a family of artists, writers and performers going back many generations. She grew up the daughter of a Broadway actor and a Psychologist in the unique arts complex called Manhattan Plaza, located in Manhattan's historical theater district, a neighborhood also known as Hell's Kitchen. In Manhattan Plaza she was surrounded by both celebrated and working artists, musicians, actors, playwrights, such as Al Pacino, Tennessee Williams, Larry David, Alicia Keys, Donald Faison, Charles Mingus, James Earl Jones, Terrence Howard, Mickey Rourke, and Angela Landsbury.
In her youth, Nicole attended the independent, coeducational college preparatory school, The Calhoun School, on Manhattan's Upper West Side. There she continued to be exposed to and cultivate her love of art and theater. While at Calhoun, Nicole began additional studies in painting and drawing at Parsons The New School Of Design. She went on to study Art and Theater at Binghamton University. Later honing her craft with studies at the Art Students League of New York as well as under the tutelage of portrait painter, Matt Held. She worked in the Chelsea Art Galleries as an assistant and assistant curator.
Drawing and painting from an early age, Nicole quickly discovered her love of art and color and began exhibiting in New York City at 19-years-old. Her work has appeared in both top New York galleries as well as on magazine and book covers.
Nicole's work offered as paintings is bright, colorful, playful and sensual. Her paintings are like fragments of dreams, memory, fantasy and nostalgia.
In addition to her work as a fine artist, Nicole is also a successful actress and has appeared on such TV shows as The Good Wife, Law and Order, Law and Order:Criminal Intent, All My Children, As the World Turns, Ugly Betty and many more.
